Camp KJ

Since Caitlin "Cait" and Carley "Car" were little girls, we would always have fun no matter where we were! When I was a sophomore in college at OU, I decided they should come to Norman to spend a few days with me. Each summer since, they have made their way across Oklahoma to stay at Camp Kari. I don't know how festive next summer will be for Caitlin considering she is moving here...but no matter what, we love each others company. It never fails; there is a quote or an instance that makes our time together memorable. This year, Cait started out at Camp Crimson. Carley and I went to visit her and her future roomie Nicki at their Retro Party. We had fun seeing Eclipse (I am Team Edward), Salt, going to pamper ourselves with pedi's, shopping, and lounging. Love Rother girls!

Thirty-Something

Doug turned 31 last week. Sara and him celebrated in Seattle, Washington! When they got back to Oklahoma we gathered at Ranch Steak House in Oklahoma City. The restaurant carried a wine Sara, Doug, Sam, and Sarah were thrilled about. Earlier in the summer they went to wine country in Napa Valley, California. They were able to tour vineyards and celebrate with wine tastings. One of the vineyards they spent some time at...had a wine selection at the steakhouse. What a great way to celebrate! Happy birthday Doug! Happy belated birthday Sarah! Happy engagement Chan and Julie!

California Dreaming and 90210

If Scott could name one of his "bucket list" items; driving down the Pacific Coast Highway would make his top 3 things to do within his lifetime. The past few years Scott has been wishing and hoping we could make this dream a possibility someday...lets admit, sooner than later. We took it under consideration, and jumped the gun. We decided on 4th of July weekend. Now all we needed was a sporty car, fun hats, trendy sunglasses, and great music for the drive.

We flew out to San Fransisco, California and stayed for a couple of days. We could not believe the chic city where the Tanner's used to roam (One of my favorite TV shows growing up was Full House)! The real estate for one brownstone is around $3 million dollars. Who lives there? And wasn't Danny Tanner a news anchor? The golden gate bridge, fun cafes, and a cable car ride later...we started our scenic route to Los Angeles, Bel Air, Hollywood and of course Beverly Hills. Since I get US Weekly each Wednesday Hollywood was on the top of my list. We took the Warner Brothers VIP tour. It was full of details on how they make movies and television shows on their lot. Not to mention our fun tour in Hollywood of the stars homes. Too bad Katie and Tom were not at home for the weekend. My favorite part was when we were on the open Highway 1 feeling like we were on the edge of the earth overlooking the end of America's coast. It was one of the most beautiful and special scenes I have been blessed to experience. Scott and I enjoyed each moment of our time together. I am glad his SOMEDAY was a reality.

Rah Oklahoma...OKU!

Boomer Sooner! It has been a DREAM to someday have my sweet friend aka little sister Caitlin join the Sooner family. Today she arrived in Norman for her first OU experience....camp crimson! "I hope Caitlin comes to OU SOMEDAY..." Now we just have to start working on her sister Carley!

Bon Voyage...

Scott and I have been talking about when to go on our next cruise since 2008. That's where we spent our honeymoon! I will post more about that soon. We went with our absolute favorite people for our second anniversary and a high school graduation! We joined my parents, Kevin, Donna, Caitlin, and Carley for a WEEK of fun. We went on an eastern Caribbean cruise to the Bahamas, St. Thomas, St. Marten, and Turks and Caicos. WOW! We need a new word for fun! This trip will always be special to us. We have withdraws each day. Thanks for the memories. We heart the Rother's, mom and dad...and EVOLUTION.

And Then There Were Three...

"And what do you want for Christmas little girl?" Santa asked the young child. "A puppy!" She exclaimed. I only wished for a dog every Christmas for 24 years! As my mom always says, "Good things come to those who wait." Bernard Dawkins came into our lives when he was only 6 weeks old. Scott found him at work in South OKC on a Friday afternoon. By Sunday his name was Bernie. He has brought so much joy into our lives. I wanted a dog...someday!

Saying Yes...In A Trendy Dress

Seeing my only sibling Doug get married to the wonderful Sara, was a true honor. They were married in Palm Springs, California in December 2008. They had a reception in the Skirvin Hotel in Oklahoma City a few weeks later in January of 2009. We were blessed to be a part of both celebrations. I adore Doug...and couldn't be happier for the newest addition of our family, Sara. Who would have thought this "someday" would be the same year of Scott and my nuptials? Two thousand and eight was a special year.

A Dream Is A Wish Your Heart Makes

Every girl imagines their wedding day, but this girl couldn't wait to plan each detail during our wedding season. I still miss planning and preparing for May 31st, 2008. It was one of the best days of my life (and Scott's). This particular "someday" will live in my heart always. Some details...our overall theme were our initials "S & K." I have a major sweet tooth, so what better way to thank our guest for coming than a candy bar...with our colors, blue, chocolate brown, white, and creams. Mini milk shakes also made an appearance. Scott and my favorite part of the evening was our "wedding wall." Each married guest were asked to mail in a photo of their special day to appear on a wall at our wedding to display. To our surpise, our special day was named Brides Of Oklahoma's Spring Wedding Winner. Our story can be found in their second edition. Perfect weather, great hometown venue, handsome groom, supportive parents, and God's grace...what a day! Someday

"We will..someday." What a beautiful yet terrifying concept. Seasons in life allow us certain freedoms and opportunities. If we did everything we ever wanted in one week, what would we have to look forward to? Yet life is short, so make sure to eat dessert first. Everyone has their own "someday." Whether it's to get married, have a baby, take that dream vacation, find the perfect job, build that house on the corner, or forgive a friend...I want to share my SOMEDAYS with you...

About Me

My photo
Dreams really do come true. I have shared many days with the love of my life, Scott. We met in the winter of 2003 and married in the spring of 2008. We welcomed our sweet bundle of joy to the world August 2011. Izabelle has been a true blessing from our Father. We also have a furry pal named Bernie. I love my family and couldn't be more thankful for friends. My hope is that our blog will help share our days with the ones we love.
